This Oceanfront home on a half acre of land in Hawaiian Paradise Park gives you the privacy and serenity you're looking for. Set just back from the cliffs it is in full view of the glorious sunrise and dramatic sapphire blue ocean year round! The landscaping, front gate and rock walls offer this home a nice degree of privacy.

The two story house has separation between the living areas and bedroom suites. Downstairs are two master suites, each with an en-suite bathroom. Both bedroom windows look out onto the ocean. Wake up and marvel at the views right from bed! The south suite bathroom has a full bathtub and shower and the north suite bedroom has a TV and the bathroom has a slate-tiled walk-in shower and two vanity sinks. There is also a laundry closet with washer and dryer close to the bedrooms for your convenience. Upstairs you will find an even more impressive view of the ocean from the covered lanai and from inside. Here is a living room, dining area and open kitchen. Also upstairs is a study, SMART TV and another bathroom with shower. The gourmet kitchen is finished with Quartz counters, stainless appliances, dishwasher and a Viking gas range, fun for cooks!.

The property is fully landscaped with beautiful bougainvillea, plumbago and colorful hibiscus flowering plants! The home is extremely well maintained. Water is provided via rain water catchment and is filtered for indoor use.

Hawaiian Paradise Park is conveniently located about 10 miles south of Hilo and the Hilo International airport. From here you can visit Volcanoes National Park (45 min drive), Pohoiki black sand beach (50 minute drive), Hilo (15 min drive) and the gorgeous Hamakua Coast with waterfalls, botanical gardens and lush Hawaiian forests (30-90 min drives).

This was our second stay in this home and it won’t be the last. The views, the house, the volcanic cliffs, the gorgeous yard, and the location. It’s in the perfect spot to nest and explore the entire island conveniently. Sitting on the cliffs in the mornings with coffee and evenings with cocktails watching the waves and the changing light from sunrise and sunset is magical. Make sure you grab supplies in Hilo before you go to house. The neighborhood is wonderful and always people walking or biking. Love the separation of bedrooms downstairs and the leisure areas upstairs. The house is so beautiful and relaxing and inviting we never even turned on the television or music. The waves and the coqui frogs were exactly the relaxing sounds we wanted!

Our stay in 2024 was an encore performance of our 2023 stay.
The house has a preferred location in this coast of upscale options.
After staying there for a longer time, one realizes the advantages of being on this small stretch of shoreline because it is oriented in such a way to get a lot less salt spray from the ocean. That helps to keep the windows clean of salt and allow you to view the most amazing view of the ocean anywhere. This being the whale season, this year sightings didn't disappoint. There were also dolphins and turtles, so it was the wildlife trifecta. Driving into Hilo is an easy drive if you need more restaurant options. It is quiet and peaceful here, with an ever changing sky over the ocean. There is never a bad day here. The staff at Salt Water are top notch to work with. Don't hesitate to stay here.

Staying at the property feels like you are looking out the front of a cruise ship. Beautifully renovated with interesting design features. With a slightly elevated lot above the ocean, it gives you a superior view. There are turtles playing in the surf and whales passing by in the winter. If you love the ocean, watching amazing sunrises and moon rises over the ocean, then this is the place for you.

My husband and I plus another couple stayed in this rental for 9 nights in December. We've stayed in HPP several times and this is a great location right on the cliffs. We had beautiful sunrises during our stay. We utilize the full kitchen for most breakfasts and a few dinners. The W/D is great so we didn't have a suitcase full of dirty laundry to take home. The extra bathroom was great when we were all getting ready. We felt close enough to Hilo town and HVNP but far enough away to feel private and quiet. If we had questions, we always got a quick response by the property manager. Overall we had a great experience here.

The only things that I could possibly recommend is maybe black out curtains / blinds. 530 comes awfully quickly when jet lagged. And maybe some air conditioning. My only negative comments would be is that the king size bed is too hard and the posting should mention the frogs which took some getting used to - but once we found the fan, it made a huge difference).

When you enter the gates the first things you notice is the beautiful landscape and the sounds of birds and the waves. The 2 master suites downstairs were well decorated with Island art. Beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were stocked with towels, shampoo and conditioner. When you reach the top of the stairs you are greeted with an unobstructed view of the ocean framed by tropical plants. The patio furniture is comfortable and perfect for viewing sunrises, dolphins and sea turtles. We loved the layout upstairs. The furniture was comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, including spices, condiments and utensils. We loved sitting on the deck at night listening to the Coqui frogs and crashing waves. The house is close enough to walk to Shipman Beach. It’s a rugged, but beautiful 2 1/2 mile walk through rainforest to reach a gorgeous, secluded beach. Driving distance to Hilo was easy. We were also close to Volcano National Park and saw the lava, petroglyphs, and walked the Kilauea Iki trail. We went horseback riding in Waipio Valley. If you have any questions or concerns, the property managers are very quick to respond. We throughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

Excellent house, perfect, exquisite location. The one drawback was a 30 minute drive to Hilo if you go out to dinner. The house was well equipped for cooking in, however. Very comfortable and very private.

This place was like a piece of paradise on earth! We absolutely loved everything about it. It was immaculately clean, it was furnished with everything we needed in order to cook our own meals and relax comfortably while there. The place is so nicely decorated, the beds comfortable and THE VIEW IS FANTASTIC!! We spent most of our time out on the lanai that overlooks the ocean, or down on the rocks watching the big waves! We spotted Sea Turtles and dolphins a few times as well. We loved the quiet location and thought it was well within good distance from Hilo and other places we wanted to go. We would definitely love to stay here again!

We very much enjoyed our stay. It was private with beautiful views and maintained landscaping, and a central location to enjoy the sights around the island. It was away from the more touristy areas, but accessible, which we prefer. I enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset from the balcony. The home was immaculate and well appointed. We had plenty of space for our family of four. There is no air conditioning (as advertised) but we felt cool enough at night with the windows cracked. The home is very well maintained for being on the ocean. The property manager was proactive with providing information and responsive when we had an issue getting the code to work on the door, even though it was late.

We stayed here with another couple and it was absolutely perfect. 2 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms between the 4 of us. Never felt crowded. Kitchen was fully stocked to be able to cook meals. The views are unbelievable. We basically spent 90% of our stay outside at either of the tables or in the chairs on the lanai.
Communication with the concierge was great before nad during the stay. The check in/out process was also very easy.
I would definitely go grocery shopping to get all your essentials ahead of time. Closest grocery store is about 20 minutes away. If you don't mind not being near a major town and like quiet and relaxed then this is the spot for you! I had never been to the east coast of Hawaii and now would definitely come back

We had to get our house termite-tented during the pandemic and had the lovely experience of staying in this great house while it happened. Actually, we ended up extending twice because we didn't wanna leave! If you're like me and you LOVE to cook, this is the place. We grilled every night and took full advantage of the very well-equipped kitchen. Had some super memorable meals and good times pigging out on the lanai as the sun went down. Everything was in great shape and the house was SO clean - which is not an easy task when you are RIGHT on the ocean. the views are to die for, and the neighborhood is delightful. I wanted to go back as soon as I left. STAY HERE!
