Moana Imaku

Aloha and Welcome to Moana Imaku! Come and enjoy your Hawaiian getaway in a lovely, spacious, light filled home all your own. In creating this vacation home it was important for the owner to build a place that could be enjoyed by all, including the differently abled. This home is wheel chair accessible from the entry ramp to the wide doorways and easy-access walk-in showers in both bathrooms. There are lots of extra features for those with special needs. Everyone in your group will love the ocean view lanai a block from the ocean... and you may meet the neighborhood hen, Henrietta, who often leaves a freshly laid egg for guests on a chair cushion!

When you enter this hale you will notice the lovely tropical furnishings and décor, shiny African mahogany floors, large fully equipped gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, and dining area. Not to mention the newly furnished and comfortable lanai with 2 loveseats, 2 chairs and a dining table that sits 4. The spacious living room includes a Smart TV and plenty of seating area.

The bedrooms consist of a four poster queen size bed in the master bedroom with its own master bathroom. First guest room has two single beds and second guest room has one queen size bed. Guest bathroom is conveniently located between both bedrooms.
Moana Imaku also features indoor laundry room with front load washer & dryer, and a 400 square foot lanai where you can enjoy outdoor dining and take in your ocean views.
This hale is located on the beautiful Puna coast a block from the ocean and the beautiful ocean park, bringing you our island sunshine and trade breezes on the sunrise side of the island.
We hope that when you come to Moana Imaku that you will find the tranquility and harmony of these beautiful islands. NOTE: there is no beach access in the neighborhood as the ocean cliffs are more than 20 feet high - breathtaking for photographers and other nature lovers!

  We had an amazing time, house was awesome and bedrooms were lovely. The lights in the fans were finicky and sometimes hard to shut off that were in the dining room and living room. The lanai was great to sit out on to have our morning coffee. Thanks for the stay.

  The house was a perfect size for the 4 of us (2 couples), was very well equipped and was a nice location. We lived sitting on the patio and looking at the ocean. Nice quiet location and friendly neighborhood. The only drawback was some minor maintenance requirements in the house (broken cupboard door, sticky kitchen faucet) but not a big issue.

  Just as expected, dark at night due to not street lights, nice park across the street and the ocean is right there, no beach access at this location and services are about 7 miles out, so you will need a vehicle, this is a place I would stay again.

  We just returned from our stay at Moana Imaku and could not be more pleased with this location. The house was beautiful as was the location. It had everything we needed for a party of six and then some. They only thing I couldn’t find was beach towels bought we bought some as souvenirs. There were beach chairs, coolers, snorkels, boogie boards and water shoes. The lanai was absolutely amazing and is where we camped in our brief time that we weren’t out exploring. Although there is no AC, with all the windows open it was very cool and breezy in the house. There were plenty of goodies left from previous renters that were extremely helpful! You won’t regret booking your stay here!!

  We (two couples) stayed for eight days at the Moana Imaku. We were delighted with the property and location. It was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, including various herbs and spices left by earlier renters. If you need a rental that accommodates a wheelchair or walker, the house is very accessible with a ramp, and wide doors in the main bedroom and ensuite with room to maneuver. The lanai was fantastic. We spent a lot of time there, rain or shine. We could hear the waves crashing and there was a view of the ocean through the park. Of course, it's a good drive to most locations but we enjoyed exploring the Puna area and the walks we took through Hawaiian Beaches.
  As is not unusual, there's no air conditioning but lots of fans and windows. The breeze usually cooled the house fairly quickly after it was closed up for the day.
  We did have a couple of minor issues - but the property manager took care of them promptly. (Some ant traps took care of a few too many sugar ants, and some magic repair of the fan remotes until the replacements arrive!)
  And we were greeted on arrival by "Henrietta" who also wandered through the yard daily! We would happily stay here again.

  We stayed at the Moana Imaku home late February, 2023. We had torrential rain but it was so wonderful to see and hear the ocean. We saw a whale breaching and experienced Henrietta 1 and Henrietta 2's breakfast donations. We even got used to the frogs croaking all night.
  The house itself was beautiful. There are many ADA accommodations but it was very comfortable. The covered deck was so comfortable. The bedrooms were comfortable.
  This is a lovely vacation home and we would highly recommend it.

The house was very clean and well kept, and the lenai is wonderful. The neighborhood is very quiet and has a local feel, and the shoreline just a short walk from the house is incredible (not a beach, but beautiful volcanic rock). We would definitely stay here again.

  Our rental was very nice and clean. Check the closet by the kitchen for coolers and chairs for a beach day! This is a little farther from towns, which is what we wanted but just be prepared for that. The WiFi was a little slow but that’s pretty minor since we were out and about a lot.
